Resistance of the Singaparna people in West Java to the Japanese
The struggle of the people of West Java Singaparna with the Japanese, who expected colonization, was undoubtedly the most difficult time for the Indonesian people, although the struggle never ended. This struggle is certainly one of the biggest battles in Indonesia to scare the invaders.
During the colonial period, of course, the colonists did various things that made the Indonesian people miserable and tortured. Therefore, various efforts were made to buy the wealth and independence of the community, especially in the West Java region. This of course is also done with the support of various parties.
There was an important figure, who later appeared in the case of the resistance of the Singaparna people of West Java to the Japanese . Under his leadership, more and more people joined forces to let go and eradicate various unpleasant views of the invaders, in this case, at that time it was Japan.
Rejection of movements that cause fights
When Japan began to control the territory of Indonesia, it not only had to create its own power, but its various cultures were forced to influence people. Of course, you have also heard or read it. One of the cultures that Japan also wants to instill is respect for its flag.
Not only that, but Japan is also trying to make Indonesians sing their national anthem. Includes a tribute to face the sun in honor of the Emperor of Japan or called seikere. Basically, in the religion that the Japanese believe in, bowing to the sun is a form of respect for the sun god.
The Indonesian people opposed and rejected this, and it became one of the reasons for the resistance of the West Java Singaparna people to the Japanese at that time. There is no doubt that the existence of this seikere is also opposed by many existing scientists, since it is also similar to the prayer movement. So that it further obscured the hot atmosphere at that time and caused greater problems between Japan and Indonesia.
There were many important clerical figures who opposed this movement and urged their troops to fight the opposing army. However, because this is so emphasized, the assault soldiers will regard anyone who does not want to do this as a dissident and deserves punishment.
Singaparna people’s resistance to Japanese politics
One of the clerics who at that time rejected the seikerei movement was KH Zainal Mustafa. He and all his students of pesantrene Sukamanah clearly refused to do this and aroused the resistance of the Singaparna people of West Java against the Japanese. This also includes saying that for Muslims to perform seiker, this is an act of avoidance and should be avoided.
Of course, KH Zainal Mustafa remained silent as he watched the Japanese torture everyone who resisted the movement. He began to strategize to increase the strength to properly rebel against the Japanese troops. Pesantren student troops were deployed to fight the enemy.
At first, before the resistance of the singaparna, west javanese and japanese people, the colonialists sent their people to negotiate with KH Zainal Mustafa so that he could understand. However, it turned out that in the end the Japanese envoy was actually killed and angered the attackers, so they decided to use stricter methods.
Until finally , the resistance of the West Javanese singaparna community to the Japanese was no longer inevitable. Although in fact, the number of troops is certainly less than a lot, so that the opposing army can master the resistance. There were so many soldiers from pesantren who were detained and killed by the Japanese for being dissidents and disobeying their orders.
The Singaparna people who were anti-colonial policies
The people of the Singaparna region are actually people who tend to be religious. So that the various policies of the colonizers are indeed very hostile, especially with the various atrocities that have been committed. This is very inconsistent with the religious understanding adopted by the majority of the Singaparna people, namely Islam.
One of the obstacles to the resistance of the People of West Java Singaparna to the Japanese was due to the large number of people who died at that time due to forced labor. In addition, all the behaviors of the Japanese look inhumane. They have the heart to do everything in their power to punish anyone who does not want to obey what has been ordered and is regarded as a rebel.
In addition, Japan is pursuing an increasing number of policies and there is no reason to reject them. Politics is considered contrary to religious teachings and coercive. That this will further force people to live miserable lives and not have the freedom to do according to the teachings of their religion.
The battle between Singaparna, West Java and the Japanese people lasted in sukamanah village for about an hour. The troops led by KH Zainal Mustafa carried swords and pointed to bamboo as their weapon. In addition to the students there are combinations, there are also soldiers from kepet, Garut and Tasikmalaya. They all united to resist the arbitrariness of Japanese colonization, although they eventually had to lose.
Susipažinkite su KH Zainal Mustafa figūra
KH Zainal Mustafa or who in childhood was known as Umri or Hudaemi, was actually an ordinary person. He studied Gunung Pari Islamic boarding school and moved around as a traveling student. This was done in order to obtain deeper religious knowledge from teachers of various types and, of course, scientists.
After studying at several Islamic boarding schools in West Java and because of his intelligence, Umri was appointed as an assistant to Kyai Muttaqien. Umri has noble aspirations to build and manage her pesantrene. Until finally this dream was realized in the Baguer Village area, Singaparna. Of course, this is a story of resisting the resistance of the Singaparna people of West Java to the Japanese.
Then Umri changed his name to KH Zainal Mustafa, after performing the hajj in 1937. He emphasized that learning Arabic should be the main thing that must be learned to make it easier to understand religious science. However, in his message, he was also taught material about the history of Indonesia and the defense of the motherland.
Because of this material, KH Zainal Mustafa was supervised by dutch colonial intelligence. Even later, he was also imprisoned by the Dutch. Of course, this happened due to the fact that he criticized the policies of the colonists, which at that time were considered contrary to religious teachings and inhumane.
He continued to do everything he could to defend his religion and people. Oppose any policy from the colonizers to the Japanese who came to Indonesia. His love for the motherland is undeniable. Many services of national heroes were carried out, which were carried out and had a great influence on the struggle of the Indonesian nation.
The struggle of the people of Singaparna must indeed end in defeat. But in other areas, there is also a lot of resistance to end the policies of the colonizers , which are not suitable for the welfare of the people. Starting from the resistance of the people of West Java Singaparna to the Japanese, the struggle of the Indonesian people was extraordinary in defending its independence.
